What is Child Therapy
Play therapy is a form of counseling that is child centered. Play therapy allows children to be seen in their natural environment. It is the tool that allows children to explore and express themselves in their natural form through play. Children are unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings. Play therapy provides children the need to be active and express their individual personalities. It is their most natural form of communication.
How does Play Therapy Work
Counselors use play therapy to enhance the counseling process by allowing children to use a developmental way to express their feelings or what might be troubling them . Children use play as a tool to act out their problems. Play is used as a communication tool for children to express their feelings, needs, or problems.
